Save the Dates for 2019 Responsible Conduct of Research Course for Postdoctoral Scholars (RCR-PS)

The 6-session RCR course for basic science postdocs (and basic science advanced PhD students) will be held:

Mission Bay - Tuesdays
Dates: January 22 – February 26, 2019
Time: 12:00 – 1:30 p.m.
Location:  Room TBA

Parnassus - Thursdays
Dates: January 24 – February 28, 2019
Time: 12:00 – 1:30 p.m.
Location:  Room TBA

Postdocs can elect to attend a session on Tuesdays or Thursdays (not both – they are the same presentation). Note that even though this course meets from noon – 1:30pm, we are not able to provide food.  Feel free to bring your lunch. There is no cost to postdocs and PhD students to attend this course.

Clinical fellows who want to attend the course must pay a $150 fee at the start (handled through Eventbrite), regardless of how many sessions they attend. Note that case studies and materials will be focusing on basic sciences, not clinical.  For a more appropriate course, please visit the RCR website.

The registration period starts Dec 5 and ends Jan 18.  Registration will be handled through the Collaborative Learning Environment (CLE). All course information and materials will be available on the CLE RCR-PS site. RCR-PS registration details will be sent in late November.

Participants are expected to:

  • Attend all 6 sessions
  • Be prompt
  • Complete assigned reading
  • Participate weekly in the CLE online forum discussions
  • Complete weekly and end-of-course evaluations

Please note that our new RCR-PS program manager is Brianna Singleton,  a PhD student in Nursing focusing on occupational and environmental health. She earned her BA in Interdisciplinary Studies at UC Riverside, and an MA in Public Health from University of the San Francisco.

Please send your questions to Brianna.
