NIH Grant Seminar December 2024
The postdoc interest group UPRISE (Underrepresented Postdocs Realizing an Inclusive Scientific Environment) is organizing a postdoc seminar with NINDS Section Chief Dr. Lauren Ullrich (she/her). The focus will be to receive expert guidance on postdoc-eligible NIH grants. Dr. Ullrich is Section Chief of Career Advancement in the Office of Programs to Enhance the Neuroscience Workforce, which focuses on funding opportunities supporting late-stage graduate students, postdocs, and faculty, as well as mentoring networks across critical career transition points.
National Postdoc Appreciation Week (NPAW) 2024
This year's National Postdoc Appreciation Week (NPAW) was celebrated from the 16th-20th September 2024. The events included the Postdoc Slam, a writing retreat, financial literacy and permanent residency information sessions, a few lunch events and much more! Bi-Monthly Joint Happy Hour with Gladstone Institutes
Every other month, 100+ postdocs come together for free pizza + drinks at our joint Happy Hour with Gladstone Institutes. This event will be advertised (with link for RSVP) through our listserv, so keep an eye on your inbox.
Coffee Socials around Mission Bay and Parnassus Campus
PSA hosts regular coffee hours with free coffee + snacks. A great way to meet other postdocs. Make sure to subscribe to our listserv and be there for the next coffee social at your campus!
Outdoor events in and around San Francisco
PSA has been very active in organizing regular hikes around San Francisco and the Bay Area. We are lucky to live in one of the best spots for enjoying the outdoors.
