Nominate a Graduate Student or Postdoc for the Dean’s Excellence in Mentoring Award

The Graduate Division/Office for Postdoctoral Scholars is accepting nominations for the Dean’s Awards for Excellence in Mentoring for Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Scholars until March 31, 2020. This award was developed in conjunction with graduate students and postdoctoral scholars as part of a continual effort to promote a culture of mentorship at UCSF, and to recognize the diversity of peer support and leadership among our graduate students and postdoctoral scholars who contribute to that culture.

Any UCSF affiliate – staff, faculty, student, postdoc, etc. – may submit a nomination online. The award is open to currently enrolled graduate students (both master’s and PhD) and postdoctoral scholars who have formally or informally taken on some of the responsibilities typically held by traditional mentors, supervisors, and sponsors in the areas of research mentoring, career and professional mentoring, and social and inspirational mentoring. After the nominations have been reviewed by a committee, three graduate students and three postdoctoral scholars will be presented with a $500 award and recognized during a ceremony in front of their peers in JuneLearn more and submit a nomination.

Please share this flyer and email with anyone who may be interested in celebrating a graduate student and/or postdoctoral scholar whose mentorship, leadership, and peer support efforts should be brought to the attention of the wider UCSF community.
