Enter Postdoc Slam! Could win $3000 -- DEADLINE July 15th

Can you explain your research in three minutes or less, in a way that people outside of your field can understand and appreciate?  UCSF’s fourth annual Postdoc Slam competition challenges you to do just that!

Why enter? First of all, being able to present your research in a clear and concise way is an invaluable skill. It will help you with job interviews and networking, and even with getting funding for your ideas. Being a Postdoc Slam finalist or winner will also look great on your CV, plus each finalist will receive a professionally edited video of their presentation to use as they wish.

There’s also substantial prize money at stake!  The winner of the 2019 Postdoc Slam contest will receive $3,000. The 2nd-place prize is $1,500; 3rd-place – $1,000; and “people’s choice” – $750. Finalists who don’t win one of the four top prizes will each receive a $100 Amazon gift card.

How to enter:

Step 1: Declare your intent to enter by July 15 by completing a simple online form.
Step 2: Develop and practice your 3-minute talk.
Step 3: Submit a video of your talk by Monday, August 5.
(You will not be judged on the production quality of your video, only on the quality of your talk!)

The 7 to 10 finalists — chosen in August — will compete in the live Postdoc Slam event on September 19 on the UCSF Mission Bay campus. Get more details about rules, criteria, resources, and previous competitions on the Postdoc Office website. Be sure to declare your intent to enter before the July 15 deadline.
