Basic Science Seminar ~ Judith Frydman

We invite you to attend the next Basic Science Seminar and join host, Jason Gestwicki  in welcoming our guest speaker, Dr. Judith Frydman, Donald Kennedy Chair in the School of Humanities and Sciences and Professor of Genetics at Stanford University on Tuesday, February 25, 12:10-1:10pm in GH AUD 106 for her talk titled: “Sorting out the trash: maintaining proteome quality in health and disease”

The long term goal of their research is to understand how proteins fold in living cells. The Frydman lab uses a multidisciplinary approach to address fundamental questions about molecular chaperones, protein folding and degradation. In addition to basic mechanistic principles, they aim to define how impairment of cellular folding and quality control are linked to disease, including cancer, neurodegenerative disease and virus infection. They also examine how reengineering chaperone networks can provide therapeutic strategies.

To learn more about the research, visit the The Frydman Lab.  Her bio also attached for your reference.

We very much encourage attendance but in the event you cannot make it in person, you can either log into MyAccess to get into the class capture link (https://tinyurl.com/2020WINBSS) or if at Parnassus, HSW 7th fl. conference room where the class capture will be shown live.
