Are you curious about non-academic careers? Come to the Basic Sciences Alumni Seminar next Tuesday (2/5) at 5pm in Genentech Hall N-114 (NEW LOCATION) at Mission Bay to hear from a UCSF PhD who works in regulatory affairs. Dinner will be provided.
About the speaker: Dr. Caitlyn Gertz graduated from UCSF in 2015 with a PhD in Neuroscience (Arnold Kriegstein lab) and is currently a Regulatory Program Manager at Genentech. During her PhD, Caitlyn participated in the GSICE program and did a one year internship in the UCSF Research Development Office. In the summer of 2014, she also did an internship at Genentech in the Neuroscience Research and Drug Discovery program, where she helped identify pharmacodynamics endpoints for an early stage ALS program. During this time she supported regulatory activities on several programs within the non-oncology pipeline. In August 2017, Caitlyn was promoted to Regulatory Program Manager and currently leads regulatory activities for oncology programs, specifically within the cancer immunotherapy portfolio.
About the series: Every month, the Alumni Seminar Series invites UCSF alumni to discuss their non-academic careers. Speakers share their diverse career backgrounds and then take students’ questions in a casual discussion. This series is sponsored by the Associated Students of the Graduate Division, the Graduate Division Alumni Association, and the Biomedical Sciences, Bioengineering, and Neuroscience graduate programs.
Organized by UCSF Basic Science Alumni Speaker Series Committee: Lindsey Osimiri, Tina Solvik, and Snow Naing
