This engaging presentation provides an introduction and overview of consulting for anyone who has wondered, "What *is* consulting?" Although intended for a wide range of science grad students and postdocs with little or no prior knowledge, the detail provided will be valuable even for those who have a baseline knowledge. Topics for discussion include variations in types of consulting, how consulting firms sell projects to clients, example projects, illustrative daily schedules, comparisons between firms, motivations to pursue consulting, and much more The content has been developed by a former BCG Consultant who provides a candid perspective with more than two years of on-the-job experience.
