Join us Monday, April 29 for our inaugural event celebrating

Black Men in Medicine (BMIM): Building Community

Despite concerted efforts to increase the number of minority ethnic groups in science and medicine, the proportion of black men pursuing and obtaining degrees in these fields has reached a historic low.

UCSF is committed to training and supporting physicians from all backgrounds, including traditionally underrepresented groups, to enhance our programs and meet the needs of the diverse populations we serve.

This event seeks to create a space for networking, mentorship, and community-building amongst black medical students, residents, faculty, and those who support their advancement at UCSF and beyond.

The evening will begin with a reception in which black men in medicine at varying career levels will share their stories to provide inspiration and guidance to listeners. The reception welcomes all who support the goals and ideals of the evening.

Following the reception will be a networking dinner for BMIM. The dinner is open and free to students, residents, fellows, post-docs, and faculty who identify as BMIM.
