[Union] Applying for Funding: Panel and Discussion

Join us on November 30th, at 2pm, for a panel discussion on applying for research funding as a Postdoc or Academic Researcher. Panelists from UCSD will share their experience with obtaining funding, and there will be an opportunity to get questions answered.

Dr. Priyadarshini Pantham is a Project Scientist at UCSD, Dr. Pantham will share her experience obtaining K99 funding as an international scholar.

Dr. Tony D. Davis is a former UCSD Postdoc and currently an Assistant Professor at Binghamton University. Dr. Davis will share his experience obtaining K99 funding.

Dr. Francesca Soncin is currently an Assistant Professor at UCSD and was previously in the Project Scientist series. She will share her experience obtaining an R01 grant while a Project Scientist and how that helped her transition into a faculty position.

Dr. Makoto Miyakoshi - Currently an Assistant Project Scientist at UCSD. Through his career as a Postdoc and an Assistant Project Scientist, Dr. Miyakoshi contributed to his team to get two NSF-CRCNS grants funded.

Dr. Susanne Benz has been a Postdoc at UCSD since 2018. She was awarded a Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship (Canada) and a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship (Japan). She will share her experience applying to international grants.

Dr. Aleksandra Babicheva is a Postdoc in Pulmonary Medicine, she has been at UCSD for 2 years and is currently on American Heart Association (AHA) Postdoctoral Fellowship. She will share her experience applying for the AHA grant.
